What a content factory engagement actually delivers

A Northern Vaughn engagement is a structured 8-to-12-week build. Week one and two: we audit your existing content assets, interview key stakeholders, and map your audience journey. Weeks three and four: we deliver your editorial strategy document — topic clusters, format matrix, cadence plan, and SMART KPIs. Weeks five through eight: we design and document your production pipeline in your project management tool of choice (Notion, ClickUp, Airtable, or custom), including brief templates, editorial calendars, style guides, and role-responsibility matrices. The final phase covers team onboarding, analytics wiring, and a live handover session. You receive a fully documented, immediately operational content factory your team runs independently.

Service modules in detail

Clients may engage all four modules as an integrated factory build, or commission individual modules to address specific gaps.

Editorial Strategy

A 90-day strategic roadmap that maps content to business goals. Deliverables include an audience persona pack, a keyword-cluster map, a format-and-channel matrix, and a monthly editorial calendar template with built-in review gates. Typical timeline: two weeks.

Content Pipeline Design

End-to-end workflow documentation for every content type you produce — blog, email, social, video script, and case study. Each pipeline includes a brief template, production SLA, approval chain, distribution checklist, and a Notion or ClickUp board pre-built and ready to use. Typical timeline: three weeks.

Team Onboarding Programme

A structured 30-day onboarding curriculum for your editorial team covering platform use, brief interpretation, style guide application, and feedback protocols. Includes recorded video walkthroughs, a role-specific quick-start guide for each contributor, and two live Q&A sessions with a Northern Vaughn lead. Typical timeline: four weeks, running in parallel with pipeline build.

Publishing Workflow & Analytics

We connect your CMS, Google Analytics 4, Search Console, and CRM to a single reporting dashboard — Google Looker Studio by default, DataStudio or Tableau on request. You get a weekly content scorecard, a monthly ROI attribution report, and a quarterly strategy review template. Ongoing analytics support is available as a retained monthly service post-build.

“We had three writers, a Trello board, and absolutely no editorial strategy. Northern Vaughn rebuilt everything — the brief templates alone saved us four hours a week per writer. Six months later, organic leads from content are up 140% and the team knows exactly what to publish next.”

Common questions about our content factory service

Do we need to have existing content before engaging you?

No. Roughly half our clients come to us with little published content and a vague brief. The audit phase works equally well on a blank slate — we focus on your audience, your commercial goals, and your team's capacity, and build the strategy from there.

What tools does Northern Vaughn work with?

We design for the tools your team already uses. We have pre-built templates for Notion, ClickUp, Airtable, Trello, Asana, and HubSpot. For analytics, we prefer Google Looker Studio but can adapt to any BI platform. We never lock you into a proprietary tool.

How long does a full factory build take?

A standard four-module build runs eight to twelve weeks depending on team size and complexity. Individual modules — strategy only, or pipeline design only — typically deliver in two to three weeks. We provide a project timeline at the start of every engagement.

Will my team be able to run the system without ongoing support?

That is the explicit goal. Every deliverable is fully documented and recorded. The onboarding programme is designed for independence. We do offer a monthly retained support option, but the majority of clients operate the factory autonomously within 90 days of handover.

Can you integrate with our existing SEO agency or freelancers?

Yes. We frequently operate as the infrastructure layer behind existing content contributors. We design the pipeline to accommodate external writers, SEO partners, and freelancers — with clear brief standards and feedback protocols so quality is maintained regardless of who produces the content.

Not sure which module fits your situation?

A 30-minute discovery call is enough to diagnose your biggest content bottleneck and match you to the right service.
